There was yet more plot thickening between Hangman Page and Renee Paquette after last week's poised and polite chat between the two.

Seven days ago, Page's powerful words sent both sides of the Elite/CM Punk culture war into a tizzy with overt and covert inferences to both, but Renee's request for a follow-up chat found the 'Anxious Millennial Cowboy' in rather different fettle.

Drawing a line between his first match with Jon Moxley and his next one, Page noted that he first had his head knocked sideways by the former AEW Champion in Ohio, and would love to return the favour when Dynamite returns to the state next week. He was interrupted by Moxley's BCC stablemate Wheeler Yuta, and while the contrivance to set up their Rampage singles match was forced, Page's confidence absolutely wasn't. In defiantly standing down Yuta and brushing off the danger of a returning Moxley in front of his own wife, Hangman felt like he was trying to walk back the insecurities he allowed himself to display last week.

These conflicting emotions defined his initial split from The Elite, so it makes perfect sense that they would return to the forefront as soon as a reunion tantalisingly reveals itself on the horizon.
