10 Ways To Make WWE SmackDown Important On USA Network

2. Major Exclusive Angles

Alongside title matches and title changes, the most obvious way to draw viewers to SmackDown is to stage major angles on the blue brand. WWE, more or less without exception, keeps its biggest story developments and angles for its flagship Raw show, leaving SmackDown to fight for scraps from the writing team most weeks. When SmackDown moves to the USA Network, it should do so with several angles of its own. Admittedly, this is something that has picked up in recent months, whether in terms of the Tyler Breeze debut or the Wyatt Family's challenge to the Brothers of Destruction, which played out entirely on SmackDown. SmackDown should be pitched as a show that is almost on an equal footing to Raw. As with title changes, it's clear why WWE is reluctant to stage major storylines and angles on a pre-recorded show, but this would really help to increase the prestige of SmackDown. Viewers need to see SmackDown as something that is unmissable if they want to keep up with everything that's happening in the WWE. The best way to do that is by making certain story points exclusive.
