10 Ways WWE Has Shot Itself In The Foot In 2026

2. Booking Las Vegas Two Years In A Row

WrestleMania 41 might not have been the best show to watch, but it made WWE a boatload of cash. The company made record profits from the event. This was mainly because ticket prices were astronomically high, but they couldn't give a hoot about that.

As the old saying goes, 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it'. WWE scrapped plans to host the following year's show in New Orleans - which had already been announced as the venue for WrestleMania 42 - and decided to go back to Las Vegas.

This was only the second time in Mania history that the same venue had hosted the show in back-to-back years. Unfortunately, there's an expression in the wrestling business - 'killing the town'.

Back in the territory days, if companies ran shows in the same venue or town too often, then fans would get bored. Attendances would drop and promoters would feel the burn in their pockets. WWE made this mistake with Las Vegas and it cost them dearly.

Around 12,000 fewer people attended both nights of WrestleMania 42. WWE still made money - again, thanks to exorbitant ticket prices - but this could have gone very badly wrong.
