10 WCW Thunder Moments You Need To Revisit

David Arquette - that is all.

Reports that WCW Thunder could be added to the WWE Network library is great news for fans of Ted Turner's now-defunct promotion, along with anyone who generally enjoys endless double-crosses and indecipherable Scott Steiner promos.

For three years, Thunder was essentially the WCW answer to WWE's SmackDown, in that it was a secondary show designed to bring in mid-week wrestling viewers (as though they hadn't seen enough of the stuff on Monday) and give peripheral performers a fleeting chance to showcase their talent.

But WCW, particularly during the now-legendary (for all the wrong reasons) final 12 to 18 months, booked its B-show in the same way as it booked the flagship, Nitro, which is to say: with insane, nonsensical title changes on a bi-weekly basis, and segments that even Vince McMahon would consider a little bit over-the-top.

That was bad for those with a vested interest in keeping the company alive, but good for retrospective lists of the best Thunder moments - because there's a hell of a lot of them to choose from. Here are 10 you might want to give another watch.

10. Chris Jericho Trolling Goldberg

Trolling isn't really an art-form, but if it were Chris Jericho would be its Leonardo da Vinci. The man is peerless in his ability to get the crowd in the palm of his hands, and he's been doing it since before you were born (probably).

For evidence, look no further than his brief nearly-feud with Goldberg in 1998, which peaked on an October episode of Thunder when he challenged the then-World Heavyweight Champion to a match, knowing that - not being in the building - he wouldn't be able to answer it.

After teasing us with his music, Jericho declared himself the victor (and, therefore, the conquerer of Goldberg's winning streak), in a segment that has now become one of the most cited in WCW history - mainly because of the supposed real-life beef between its two antagonists.
