10. The Cursed Battle Royal - 2012
906071CM Punk successfully defended the WWE Championship at Elimination Chamber 2012, but with Royal Rumble winner Sheamus challenging World Heavyweight Champion Daniel Bryan at WrestleMania, a contender for Punk's title at the show of shows needed to be named. The night after the Chamber, Raw hosted a ten-man battle royal, with the winner getting a title shot at WrestleMania XXVIII.
Chris Jericho would win the battle royal, but not before a cavalcade of mishaps. After R-Truth took a nasty bump to the outside, Dolph Ziggler was eliminated. Wade Barrett attempted to catch him, but dislocated his elbow in the process, sending Dolph crashing into the announcers' table. Cody Rhodes, already working on an injured leg, collapsed in the ring after nailing The Big Show with a Disaster Kick. Kofi Kingston was launched out of the ring by Jericho, but Vickie Guerrero was in his way and he was forced to change directory, crashing into the barricade. Santino Marella was eliminated, landing right on Barrett's bad arm.
The whole thing was an impossible series of unlucky events. Barrett missed significant time due to his elbow, but luckily, the other men were not seriously injured.
