It was rather fitting that Corey Graves and Kurt Angle were the two key presences in outing Big Cass as Enzo's assailant. It has been their relationship that has allowed the Olympic Gold Medallist's own mystery to continue to simmer. The pair have been thick as thieves since the story's commencement, bounded by odd texts and calls that mask a dark secret the Raw General Manager has been desperate to keep locked away.
Things came to a head for Angle this week on Raw, when a show-closing conversation revealed he had no choice but thrash all the details out live on next week's show. At long last, the fanbase will find out exactly what Kurt's been hiding under his smart casual GM attire. But just what is it?
10. A Relationship With Dixie Carter
Speculation has been rampant that the former TNA boss will make a once-unthinkable live appearance for WWE following her surprising inclusion on the WWE Network's recent Kurt Angle '24' special.
In that, she took the role as an authoritative friend during Kurt's time away from paternal figure Vince McMahon. During one of her talking heads, she noted Angle's lengthy struggles with drug and alcohol addiction during his TNA tenure. She advised him that the work came second to his deteriorating health, similar to the warnings McMahon had laid out before their acrimonious 2006 split, but he continued on his road to ruin.
It implied the sort of close-knit relationship few performers were likely to establish with their boss, and may have inadvertently laid groundwork for an on-screen tryst. Dixie was once tied to a similar angle in TNA alongside AJ Styles, but the story careered off a cliff when it was revealed the pair were actually helping mutual friend Claire Lynch combat drug addiction. The more obvious payoff may this time fit perfectly with Kurt's scandalous secret.
