10 Wildest Spots In The History Of The WWE Money In The Bank Match
6. Owens + Zayn + Ladder = Ouch
Sticking with 2016 and one of the single most painful-to-watch moments in WWE history.
Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens seem to only have two different modes in WWE - they either love each other or they hate each other. At Money In The Bank 2016, they very much hated each other.
The two were in the middle of their storied main roster rivalry and just a month away from their outstanding match at Battleground. Before they got there, however, there were a few bumps in the road. And Kevin Owens' spine.
Owens and Zayn both did despicable things to each other during this match, but the absolute worst (or best, if you're a sadist) moment came when Zayn picked up Owens and delivered a body slam. Sounds pretty tame, right? Wrong.
See, this body slam didn't finish with Owens landing flat on his back on the canvas. No. Instead, it ended with Owens landing back first on a ladder on its side.
This was a fantastic example of innovation in the Money In The Bank match; people get slammed into ladders all the time, but never like this and it looked brilliantly brutal.
Yet another example of why real-life best friends make the best fake worst enemies.
