10 World Champions The Rock Wrestled Once
These matches legitimately were 'Once In A Lifetime'.
His professional wrestling career may not have started in the most hopeful of manners, but Dwayne Johnson overcame crowds pleading for him to die to eventually become the most recognisable pro wrestler of his generation. During his illustrious career, The Rock had memorable battles with some of pro wrestling's most iconic performers, such as Stone Cold Steve Austin, Chris Jericho, and Triple H.
The Rock also had an iconic battle with the biggest star of the modern era, John Cena. The match between the two at WrestleMania XXVIII was billed as a 'Once In A Lifetime' battle between two true icons, a match born out of a real life feud that would come to a head in The Great One's home state. Rocky came out victorious, and the whole thing was considered a success. Such a success in fact, that Once In A Lifetime was given a sequel.
This still rankles with many, but fear not: Rocky and Cena may have gone one on one twice, but there are still plenty of former world champions that faced The Rock just the one time on TV or PPV. Amongst them are a whopping six WWE Hall of Famers.
