10 Worst Booked WWE Champions Of All Time

10. Jack Swagger

Jack Swagger winning the Money in the Bank at WrestleMania XXVI was an interesting booking move on behalf of WWE. Swagger had all the ability in the world but he struggled with his character and promo work. The MITB victory gave WWE an opportunity for him to grow over the next few months and then finally put the World Title on him once he was ready.

Sadly, WWE didn’t want to wait. They put the World Title on Swagger on the SmackDown following WrestleMania, where he would cash-in on a beaten down Chris Jericho. The reign for Swagger actually started off well. Clean wins over Chris Jericho and Edge in a triple threat match and then against Randy Orton at Extreme Rules were all encouraging signs.

It wasn’t until he entered into a feud with The Big Show that the wheels fell off. It was as if Vince McMahon had suddenly given up on Swagger as he started losing TV matches, and his PPV match with Big Show ended in a DQ. The month after, Swagger would lose the World Title in a Fatal 4 Way match to Rey Mysterio. It was a shame that the reign started off so well but WWE decided that they weren’t interested in booking Swagger as a top guy any more so they simply booked him into the ground.
