10 Worst Things Vince McMahon Has Ever Done
10. Vince McMahon Allegedly Ritually Bullies Howard Finkel
You might think that Vince McMahon's bloodhound-like focus on belittling a certain beloved broadcaster is a strange, specific quirk of his. You know who is being alluded to here, and of course that ground will be covered.
Jim Ross was not the only victim of this awful treatment.
Howard Finkel was a gentle soul essential to the fabric of Golden Age WWF. He was the first WWE employee, and Vince set a tone, if nothing else. Finkel was also a beloved figure integral to the success of the promotion. It is impossible to recall the most significant events of a magical time without his "And new!" proclamation acting as the soundtrack. He also pitched the name 'WrestleMania'. One would think Vince would be happy with the guy.
He wasn't. Finkel was a quirky fellow. He was not an alpha male type, obviously. As a result, Vince, per a very upsetting William 'Paul Bearer' Moody ROH Video shoot, wasn't particularly nice towards him.
The "hazing" to which Finkel was subjected was described by Moody as "24/7". He was force-fed sardines as part of a Bushwhackers vignette until he was "sick," his car was frequently beaten up, and his willingness to do anything as a good company man was abused, time and time again, in tuxedo matches in which he was forced to dress down to his underwear despite - and indeed because of - his visible discomfort.
