10 WrestleMania Matches That Shouldn't Have Sucked (But Did)

4. Triple H vs. Booker T (WrestleMania XIX)

It's been said that using racism in wrestling doesn't work. That point is arguable, because it likely could work in front of smaller, more focused audiences, but WWE is a global product, one which is supposed to appeal to everyone regardless of their beliefs, colour or background. It was therefore stunning that the promotion chose to have lead heel Triple H effectively tell Booker T that he wasn't a worthy World Champion because of the colour of his skin. Using the phrase, "people like you" to describe the challenger, HHH did get some heat for the comments, but it wasn't the right kind of heat. Fans felt pretty uncomfortable with it all, basically acknowledging that the hero was being held down due to race reasons if they fully got behind Booker. The match itself was fun, but the ending left a lot to be desired. Hitting Booker with a Pedigree, it took 'The Game' around 20 seconds to cover the man, and the challenger didn't kick out. What an unsatisfying end to a pretty unsavoury feud. There's absolutely no way that Booker T should have lost here, the rivalry demanded that the heel get his comeuppance.
