10 Wrestlers Punished For Trying To Steal The Limelight
2. Daniel Puder
Daniel Puder's evening out at the 2005 Royal Rumble is thankfully something that would never ever happen again on WWE television, but was a cold reminder of the industry's unwritten rules as enforced by the dressing room's most frightening folk.
The long story short - 'Tough Enough' wannabe Puder had MMA credentials and had Kurt Angle in a tap-or-snap hold on a SmackDown taping believing he should give his best with the cameras rolling. Angle and the referees manipulated a 'win' for the Olympian, but Puder's cards were marked despite eventually winning the series, the $1,000,000 prize and a place in the Rumble.
Entering early to break up an Eddie Guerrero/Chris Benoit showdown, Puder was nearly chopped in half by the veterans as Jim Ross wryly welcomed him to WWE on commentary. Bob Holly licked his lips as he entered next, firing off a few more loaded weapons onto the rookie's blood-red chest.
