10 Wrestlers Too Good To Be Ruined By WWE's Bad Booking
3. Sasha Banks
The other half of the Golden Role Models has had her own share of booking-related hurdles to overcome in her WWE tenure.
Like many an NXT call-up, Sasha Banks has had a rocky time on the main roster. Despite being a five time (shout out to Booker T!) RAW Women's Champion, Banks' reigns have so far made her look more chump than champ. Banks and Charlotte Flair spent 2016 hot-shotting the title between them in pointlessly brief title reigns in a feud that only did Charlotte any favours. Watching Sasha tap out to Charlotte in an Iron Woman match with only seconds left on the clock made the Boss look like a lost cause.
Banks would spend the next couple of years doing not much of note, aside from another ludicrously short title reign (winning and losing the belt in only eight days). Thankfully, she is finally getting the recognition her talent deserves as one half of the Golden Role Models. Sasha has excelled in her role as Bayley's beta bestie, selflessly offering herself to aid her friend whilst simultaneously offering enough hints of friction to stir up anticipation for the inevitable conflict down the line.
Banks' excellent series of matches against Asuka (daft finishes not-withstanding) have been potent reminders of the world-class wrestler behind the character, and although she lost that feud her inevitable dust-up with Bayley should remind us all how the Golden Role Models changed the face of women's wrestling back in 2015.
