10 Wrestlers Who Blamed Themselves For Failing In WWE

5. Mick Foley

"Mick Foley? A WWE failure? He's one of the most decorated, important, and respected figures in company history, you bald idiot."

Absolutely, but not everything he has done in the promotion has been a roaring success. Take his participation in the 24/7 Championship's unveiling. The 20 May 2019 episode of Raw saw the legend show up with the green-and-gold strap stuffed in a little bag, linking it to the old Hardcore Championship through one of that belt's most iconic holders. It was a shambolic segment that even Foley himself looked unsure of, drawing widespread criticism across the internet, playing out before a live crowd that actually booed the big reveal.

So who's fault was it? Mick takes the blame himself:-

Speculation heading into the show pointed towards the Hardcore strap and the reveal was a big disappointment after the build-up. Mick's promo certainly played a part in that and while minor, this is still an admission.

The ensuing weeks and months saw the 24/7 Championship become a fun distraction on the undercard, as the likes of Drake Maverick, R-Truth, and more worked hard to overcome the initial disappointment. Lord knows when we'll see it next now that Rob Gronkowski has taken it to the NFL, though.
