10 Wrestlers Who Have Peaked In 2022
10. Sheamus
Heading into 2022, Sheamus' newfound alliance with one-time NXT bruiser Ridge Holland seemed like a safe yet hardly groundbreaking development. And with the Irish WWE veteran being dumped out of this year's Royal Rumble by Bad Bunny of all people, it felt as though the charismatic brawler would once again find himself taking up the spot of entertaining heel mid-carder heading into that year's Show of Shows.
And while that did ultimately come to pass at 'Mania 38, with the Brawling Brutes briefly battling The New Day, what came next caught just about everyone off-guard.
A revived push as a violent force to be reckoned with on the blue brand post-Money in the Bank paved the way for Sheamus and Drew McIntyre to beat seven lumps of crap out of one another on July 29's edition of SmackDown. And The Celtic Warrior hasn't looked back ever since.
Despite failing in that bid to become number #1 contender to the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship, this fella found a gear of staggering physicality not seen under Vince McMahon's management. And a five-star war with GUNTHER over the Intercontinental Championship only further cemented his new-found status as an unexpected favourite in the new Triple H era.
Adding merely his latest "banger" to the recent batch, The Brawling Brutes also put on a match of the night showing at Extreme Rules opposite Imperium, too.
So, if this is as good as it gets for ol' Sheamy, then at least 2022 will sit as a collection of epic Fight Nights to remember.
