If there's one thing that's certain to get you the bullet, it's physically striking a member of the WWE backstage staff, and that's exactly what happened to Alberto Del Rio in 2014. After a member of the production team had apparently made racist comments towards him, Del Rio slapped the man, instantly sealing his own fate. Nobody can claim the Mexican shouldn't have reacted to the comments, but it was an ill-judged act to use violence, and Del Rio must have known WWE wouldn't tolerate that sort of thing. In essence, Del Rio made the staff member the victim of the situation by hitting him. Worse yet, Del Rio has been extremely open and outspoken about the situation since leaving the company, and says they did little to defend him. Whilst it's true that nobody should put up with racism, and WWE should look to eradicate it from their midst, the wrestler has probably ensured he won't be back in the company any time soon by lashing out at them.
