10 Wrestlers Who Were Billed From Ridiculous Places

10. The Iron Gates Of Fate - The Taskmaster

The mid-1990s were indeed strange times for the wrestler known as Kevin Sullivan.

During that period, WCW aired several vignettes in which Sullivan begins to hear the voice of a man known as The Master summoning him. One of these cringe-worthy vignettes shows Sullivan running through the jungle (in his wrestling trunks of course) in search of this mysterious man.

After running through the jungle, Sullivan is eventually teleported to a mysterious place known as The Iron Gates of Fate, which resembles a low budget Middle Earth. The Master, who is sitting in a black robe and covered in cobwebs, seems intent on ending Hulkamania. Apparently, the way to do this is by briefly teleporting Sullivan away and having him return in a gaudy red outfit and some face paint. From that point on, Sullivan would be known as The Taskmaster', hailing from the Iron Gates of Fate.

Of course, Hulk Hogan (who also apparently wanders about in his ring attire) is also teleported to "The Gates" during the promo. Hogan goes on to show the acting chops that landed him lead roles in films like Mr. Nanny and Suburban Commando. The whole debacle ends with Sullivan and Hogan facing off in this bizarre location before The Hulkster is knocked to the ground by a seemingly random explosion.

The Taskmaster would ultimately fail to destroy Hulkamania, and The Iron Gates of Fate began to fade into obscurity, leaving us with perhaps more questions than answers.
