10 Wrestlers Who Will Never Be WWE Champion Again
10. Triple H
There's a whole generation of wresting fans who grew up seeing nothing but Triple H in the Monday Night Raw main event. Triple H versus Goldberg. Triple H versus Randy Orton. Triple H versus Batista. Triple H versus Shawn Michaels. Triple H versus Shawn Michaels. Triple H versus Shawn Michaels (seriously, they fought a lot).
To them, the idea of The Game taking a back seat must seem like a completely alien one - and yet, sooner or later, it is going to become a reality (if it isn't already). He's simply past the point of being able to deliver quality matches month in, month out, however difficult a pill that may be to swallow.
A lack of ability between the ropes doesn't necessarily preclude you from winning one of WWE's world titles by itself - The Great Khali held the World Heavyweight Championship a decade ago, despite not knowing the rules of a battle royal - but, if you're the locker room's head honcho, there are standards to uphold, too.
Taking the WWE Title - and, with it, a potential main event spot from one of the array of younger talents waiting in the wings - would send out entirely the wrong message to the rest of the roster. HHH may like the limelight, but he's got his eye on the bigger picture now as well.
