10 Wrestlers With The Most WWE Ladder Matches Ever
Whether it was for titles or Terri Runnels, these men have climbed ladders more often than most.
On June 19th, WWE will present its 7th annual Money In The Bank event. The show is one of the most hotly anticipated of the year, mostly because of the eponymous ladder match that traditionally takes places at the event. That match will take place once again this year, for the 17th time overall, and it alone has given us memorable moments by the bucketload over the years.
The ladder match may very well be the most consistent of gimmick matches held under the WWE umbrella. Coming without the inconsistencies and issues that plague cage, tables and stairs (HAH) matches, WWE ladder matches have generally ranged from good to great. We'll all have our favourites, whether it is Shawn Michaels and Razor Ramon tearing it up at WrestleMania X or any one of the TLC matches between the Hardyz, the Dudleyz and Edge & Christian.
But who has competed in the most ladder matches in World Wrestling Entertainment? The list may surprise you somewhat. If we include all matches where one wins by climbing a ladder and claiming a prize, a total of eight men have competed in 10 or more ladder matches, with two just behind this number.
Former tag specialists turned singles superstars dominate the list, along with those who made the middle of the card their home.
Here are the 10 men who have competed in the most WWE ladder matches.
10. Kofi Kingston - 8
The list begins with one third of current WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day, Kofi Kingston. Kofi has taken part in eight ladder matches during his time in World Wrestling Entertainment, and much like his role in battle royals he has become known mostly for his inventive spots and jaw-dropping creativity when it comes to playing with ladders.
Despite his relative experience, Kofi has an absolutely shambolic record when it comes to ladder matches. Kingston has taken part in the second highest number of Money in the Bank ladder matches (six) and is yet to come home with the briefcase. He has also taken part in two ladder matches without a briefcase on the line, and has only been successful once.
The good news for Kofi is that if he finds himself in this years Money in the Bank ladder match, this success came in his last ladder appearance at WWE TLC 2015. Will his momentum continue into this month's event? Don't bet on it.
