10 Wrestlers WWE Are Currently Dropping The Ball With

10. Becky Lynch

Becky Lynch was supposed to be the ace of SmackDown’s women’s division. In separating Becky from Charlotte and Sasha Banks and surrounding her with a core of (mostly) younger, less celebrated wrestlers, the 2016 draft seemed to place her in a vanguard role, pulling the lesser performers up to her level, and raising standards across the board.

Things looked to be heading in the right direction when Lynch became the first SmackDown Women’s Champion, but they've since gone downhill. Becky lost the belt to Alexa Bliss, and has been directionless ever since. Now, Lynch is just a face in the crowd, and she hasn’t been booked like a standout at any point throughout 2017.

Becky, like everyone else in the division, has suffered through the writers’ insistence on booking the women in unending multi-person feuds that curb individuality, and prevent wrestlers from getting over. Of everyone in SmackDown's division, her slide has been the most spectacular. She’s one of the most talented women’s wrestlers around, and a natural babyface, but Becky is only there to make up the numbers at the moment, when she should be a standard-bearer.
