3. Bret Hart Thinks CM Punk "Took A Bullet" For WWE

Since reconciling with Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels in 2010, Bret Hart has still maintained an ability to be extremely outspoken. A few years ago, the 'Hitman' badly criticised Triple H's in-ring work, and he's also spoken loudly about his dislike for Hulk Hogan. One man Hart really does like - however - is Phil 'CM Punk' Brooks. Bret Hart feels that Punk's departure from the ring is a huge loss for the pro wrestling industry. He also admires the way Brooks wasn't afraid to speak his mind during his WWE run. That's something Bret can relate to, reading his excellent autobiography reveals that he too had many fraught conversations with Vince McMahon and other company officials. Interestingly, Bret notes his thoughts that CM Punk "took a bullet" for the rest of the locker room by speaking out. Again in his book, Hart seemed to view himself as a representative for the rest of the boys when he was WWF Heavyweight Champion. It's likely that this is why he favours Punk, seeing him as someone who was willing to take on that role.
