3. Harley Race Once Attacked A Fan With A Ketchup Bottle
Marty told another funny story on The Hannibal TV, this time about the iconic Harley Race.
He, Race and a whole bunch of other wrestlers were out enjoying some beers and a meal post-show. Some punter in the same restaurant recognised some of the faces, and he decided to get a bit boisterous with some of his comments. According to Jannetty, the dude kept calling out everyone for being fake.
Hardly groundbreaking, revolutionary stuff, right? Well, Harley kept it cool until he'd paid for the food and drinks. Then, the annoying fan said something that peaked his attention. "I knew you weren’t tough with all that fake wrestling. That blood is just ketchup anyways. You’re a phoney". Race ignored the phoney jibe and focused on the ketchup.
The ex-NWA bad ass reached over, grabbed a bottle of the sauce and smashed it over the guy's head. Then, calm as ever, he walked out with a smile and said, "Now you're a professional wrestler, daddy". Meanwhile, Jannetty couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed.
