8. HBK Lays It Straight

Kevin Nash once remarked that Shawn Michaels now is an entirely different animal to the one back in the 90's, stating that whilst he was a more trustworthy cat now, "boy do I miss that old one". By HBK's own admission, he was difficult to deal with at one point, so it's interesting to read stories such as those in Chris Jericho's recent autobiography, where Michaels rags on Y2J for his attitude. A distinct change has taken place in the man as the years have passed by, and he's much more able to reflect happily on a lengthy in-ring career, one he managed to salvage. In 1998, plans were in place for Shawn to drop the WWF Title to Steve Austin at Wrestlemania 14. Stories have surfaced that Michaels wasn't too eager to do this, and none other than The Undertaker threatened him that he better do what's right for business. Speaking during a recent interview, Michaels refutes such claims of a conversation between he and 'Taker, saying instead that whilst The Undertaker made it known that he wouldn't be happy should Shawn not go through with the job, he never directly addressed him one-to-one.
