As soon as Triple H tossed Roman Reigns over the top rope and was announced as the winner of the 2016 Royal Rumble, fans hit social media to air their grievances. That would have been the same outcome had Reigns emerged as the winner, WWE put themselves in a tough spot again with the Rumble. Fan unrest at what happened doesn't change the fact that Triple H made history. In 2002, 'The Game' returned to a rapturous reception at Madison Square Garden on January 7. Then, he entered the 30-man Royal Rumble just weeks later as number 22. Around 25 minutes later, he was perched on the middle rope celebrating his victory. Fast-forward to the 2016 incarnation of the infamous match and the man was doing the exact same thing, creating a piece of Rumble history in the process. Triple H's Royal Rumble wins were 14 years apart, a Rumble record. Obviously, the guy isn't the first to win the match multiple times, but he does have the greatest distance between victories ever. There's a chance that record may never be beaten, because it does come across as quite the unique scenario. Like him or loathe him, Triple H is a record-setter.
