Listen to men like Steve Austin and Triple H talk, and they'll say that Scott Hall is one of the greatest minds in the pro wrestling industry. Introduced to then-WWF fans as Razor Ramon in 1992, Hall was a staple on the upper mid card scene with the company right up until leaving to join WCW in the Summer of 1996. Upward mobility was a problem for Hall as Razor, because he was viewed as someone who could help others make that leap into the main event scene. The wrestler himself wanted to be thrust into the top line mix, but was never handed a run as WWF Heavyweight Champion. A recent guest on Chael Sonnen's podcast, Hall revealed his thoughts as to why this never happened. Razor Ramon was, to Scott Hall, a more modern incarnation of Tito Santana. For his part, Santana had been over with fans, but was used mainly to ready people for main event runs. That's how Hall viewed the Ramon character, as something of a stalwart who would never hit the heights of others. It's fascinating to learn that he thought this way at the time.
