When quizzed, former Diva and current WWE Hall Of Fame inductee Lita has always said that her favourite opponents throughout her career were both Trish Stratus and Victoria. One thing that's never really asked of the women in wrestling, however, is exactly which matches inspired them, and helped them during their careers. For Amy Dumas, the woman behind the guise of Lita, one match stands out. Preparing for a bout against Victoria, Dumas studied the WrestleMania XII main event confrontation between Shawn Michaels and Bret Hart from 1996. Locking horns in a 60-minute Iron Man Match over the WWF Heavyweight Title, Michaels and Hart captivated Lita with their storytelling. As far as favourite matches go, this isn't exactly an original choice, but the 'Mania XII collision has been denigrated in several quarters for being devoid of any real drama right up until the very end. For Lita, it was the way Hart and Michaels strung the audience along for the ride, piecing together a story of fine margins where both were practically equal, that helps make it her favourite.
