5. Daniel Bryan Felt WWE Hired 'Indy' Stars Due To Current TV Climate
Over the past 5 years, there's been a dramatic shift in how World Wrestling Entertainment hires talent. Previously, the company were all about size, but they did still enjoy contracting talent from Amateur wrestling and legitimate sporting backgrounds. More recently, the company has been far more open to hiring those who have previously made a name for themselves on the independent circuit. Daniel Bryan, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens and Cesaro all immediately leap to the forefront of the imagination when analysing this point. All of those men carved reputations for themselves in smaller companies, before signing with WWE. Even Kalisto and Samoa Joe could enter that bracket, along with WWE Performance Center trainer Sara Del Ray. In the mind of Daniel Bryan, the main reason for this is the changing format for TV over the past couple of years. Top talents such as The Undertaker, Triple H and others are no longer there full-time for matches. Couple that with the fact that Raw runs 3 hours, and Smackdown 2, and WWE need workers they can rely on to piece together longer matches. That's how Bryan sees things, and feels it has been a great thing for the promotion.
