8. Sean Mooney Used WWF Magazines To Prepare For His Interviewing Gig
Someone needs to bring Sean Mooney in to teach current backstage interviewers like Charly Caruso and Dasha Fuentes how to react during promos. Both those women stare blankly even when faced with shocking admissions from the wrestlers they're interviewing. Mooney, by contrast, was full of expression.
Not having experience of pro wrestling is no excuse, because the former news anchor and MLB host barely even watched wrestling before snagging the WWF gig in 1988. During an interview with Wrestling Inc, Mooney discussed how he readied himself for the wild, colourful world of WWF television. It's not what you might expect.
For just 2 weeks before his first appearance, Mooney studied back issues of WWF Magazine and familiarised himself with the cast of characters he'd be working with. Seriously, that's it. Mooney didn't watch footage and he didn't sit in on interviews, he merely indulged himself in the monthly mag.
