10 Wrestling Matches Too Horrible For WWE To Air
2. Ric Flair Vs. Randy Savage
When: 14 September 1992 (Prime Time Wrestling).
What Happened: The rookie Omos being pulled from TV or asked to work on his in-ring performances is one thing, but seasoned professionals like Ric Flair and Randy Savage being told the same?! Say it ain't so. It happened though. The veteran pair had to re-shoot the finish to their match on 1 September 1992.
The bout aired two weeks later on 14 September.
According to Bruce Prichard's podcast, Vince McMahon was disgusted by the bungled ending to the original match and demanded that Ric and Randy get out there for a redo. The live audience watched as two of the best to ever lace up a pair of boots strolled back through the curtain and worked another take.
The end results were then spliced together in post-production. Prime Time Wrestling's mid-September episode got footage from both matches, but the WWF would never admit that or air the initial finish. That's when you know it was poor. Unexpected from workers this skilled, but poor.
