10 WWE Angles That Got Personal
10. CM Punk Sings To Aaliyah
Remember when we said that if you bring a family member into the ring, you should expect the worst to happen? Rey Mysterio clearly hadn't considered that, as he brought his entire family out to the ring.
While 2011 might've been CM Punk's year, 2010 wasn't too far off. The Straight Edge Society might not've been as big as it deserved to be, but their feud with Mysterio was more than worth it.
Rey brought his wife, son, and daughter out to the ring to choreograph the fans in attendance to all sing happy birthday to daughter Aaliyah. As all of the audience began singing alongside Mysterio, Punk's music hit.
'The Straight Edge Savior' immediately set the tone by getting into the ring and singing his own rendition of happy birthday to "Princess Aaliyah". That's not to say he changed the lyrics to it, but the way he sang happy birthday and how he paused before "you" was genuinely creepy as hell.
While Punk would go on to talk down Mysterio's entire family & challenge him to a WrestleMania match, that initial entrance speaks volumes to the maniacal character he portrayed so perfectly.
