At first glance you might think this is as simple as "the two top women of the WWF" but there's more to it than that. Having started off their careers as valets of heavily pushed talent, Sable and Miss Elizabeth were the quiet, humble, beautiful, loyal corner-woman of the Wildman Marc Mero and Macho Man Randy Savage, respectively. They each had a taste of great success: Elizabeth as part of the Mega Powers, and Sable with Vince McMahon and nearly every segment that she appeared on in 1998 garnering the highest ratings of Monday Night RAW. Both women were untrained wrestlers. Miss Elizabeth never tussled with the likes of the Jumping Bomb Angels, Leilani Kai or other women wrestlers of her day. Though she did have brief moments of physicality with Sensational Queen Sherri, Miss Elizabeth was never pushed as an in-ring talent. Sable, the real-life Rena Mero, was brought in as Marc Mero's valet with no intention of transitioning into a woman wrestler. Granted, there were times in each woman's career when the Women's Championship was defunct, the WWF was still utilizing the women in mixed tags, ala WrestleManias VI and X. While it was Sable's success as a ratings magnet that ultimately lead to her resurrecting the Women's Championship in 1998, Miss Elizabeth played as vital a role as any woman in the history of the business by carrying the moniker and truly being considered the "First Lady of the WWF". In a land ruled by male athletes, these two woman made their mark and were not only two of the most popular females during their careers, but two of the biggest stars of the entire World Wrestling Federation.
