This is a sad one. One of the most unfortunate things about the Attitude Era is that Shawn Michaels was injured and had to retire before having great matches with The Rock, put over Triple H's heel turn in say, 1999 or have rematches against Stone Cold Steve Austin. Similarly, Daniel Bryan can't wrestle Kevin Owens, Veville or Finn Balor in WWE, and joins his trainer in becoming a sad WWE footnote. However WWE is missing the ball in not doing with Bryan what they did with Michaels in having him appear as a commissioner or referee. Bryan could actually eclipse what Michaels offered in those roles, and WWE missing out is unfortunate.
