10 WWE Debuts That Were DOOMED From The Start

8. Emmalina

Emma was one of the purest, most wholesome wrestlers in NXT's early years. Best known for her quirky dance and coming to the ring with bubbles falling from the ceiling, she had some pedigree in those burgeoning years of the promotion, even going as far as being in the finals to crown the first NXT Women's Champion at NXT Arrival back in 2014.

After becoming the first Australian woman to appear on WWE's main roster, a back injury would keep Emma off TV for a large part of 2016. This is when WWE decided that a rebrand would be best, and vignettes began to air for Emma's repackaging as 'Emmalina'.

These confusing vignettes would feature Emma posing like a glamour model, with soft-focus pics showcasing her in scantily clad bikinis in all manner of exotic locations. This was a giant leap from the clutzy character fans had become accustomed to, with Dave Meltzer going as far as to suggest these clips were nothing more than an inside joke for WWE creative, as they had nothing for Emma to do. These vignettes aired for four whole months before one toe-curling, awkward promo on the February 13th, 2017 episode of Monday Night Raw put paid to the whole thing.
