10 WWE Legends Embarrassed By Their Own Matches

9. Jim Ross (Extreme Rules 2011)

No, Jim Ross could never be accused of being a professional wrestler. JR is one of the best announcers ever, maybe the best, but he's been called upon to work matches several times throughout his iconic career. Often, they're short and inoffensive enough that fans can stomach them.

Then, there's the 'Country Whipping' horror show.

At Extreme Rules 2011, Ross teamed with Jerry Lawler against Michael Cole and Jack Swagger. It was already a gimmick match nobody really wanted before the bell, and that feeling of apathy turned to annoyance when WWE handed this debacle seven pay-per-view minutes (and that's without the pre-match entrances or stalling).

Ross said in his most recent book that he was ashamed to play wrestler and try to use credible holds like the feared ankle lock. He had zero business working inside a wrestling ring for seven loooooong minutes, and he knew it. He still does.
