10 WWE Matches Doomed From The Start

6. The Big Show Vs Batista (ECW, August 1st 2006)

Failing where John Cena and Randy Orton had recently succeeded, Batista and The Big Show were heckled all the way out of New York's Hammerstein Ballroom when they were forced to main event yet another poorly-recieved edition of ECW's revived television show

Unlike 'The Champ' and 'The Viper', the duo had neither the confidence nor chutzpah to turn the audience back on themselves despite being WWE Superstars almost literally too big for the building they were in.

A p*ssed off audience were in remarkable fettle considering some of the action they'd been served. Only a CM Punk debut seemed to cater to them, with loud and lewd chants deployed to distract and disrupt with maximum effect. "Change The Channel" was the cleanest assault either side of relentless booing and old favourite "Boring". Ignoring the old adage about wrestler ribs, the two behemoths sold all of it.

Big Show literally attempted to grin and bear it but his patience was as lost as Batista's by the time they reached an extremely bitter end. A disqualification finish completed WWE's ginormous troll before a Sabu run-in was patronisingly tacked on at the end as a make-good for the entire match.
