Whilst The Rock and HBK may be fine with each other nowadays, there was a time when there was considerable heat between the pair. Some reports claim that the beef between the two stems back from Michaels acting like a complete ass at one of Rocks grandmothers shows in Hawaii years ago, and then theres the stories that The Great One disliked Shawn for the Montreal Screwjob as he was a friend of Bret Harts, and then theres the fact that a whole host of sources have talked about how HBK repeatedly told Vince McMahon to push Triple H instead of The Rock in 1998. In fact, The Rock has openly mentioned in interviews that hes never had any interest whatsoever in working with Shawn Michaels, which has been put down to their previous heat. From an outsider perspective, it seems as if Shawn wasnt all that great to Rock as the Peoples Champ tried to climb his way up the ladder, and as such The Rock had little time for Michaels and thus HBK's earlier years ruined the chances of Shawn doing business with Rocky down the line. With this example, it wasn't a case of Shawn necessarily refusing to do business, it was a case of Shawn being a d*ck and The Rock holding him accountable for that.
