There are only a few weeks left in 2014 and in the wrestling world, that's a great thing because once January hits the business tends to pick up. A lot of fans lose interest in WWE at this time of year, but then they get excited because they know the Royal Rumble is coming. The most interesting news item this week was Vince McMahon's appearance on Steve Austin's podcast on WWE Network. It was surreal to hear Vince open up about WWE business. Hearing him say that Randy Savage is definitely going into WWE's Hall of Fame soon made a lot of fans really happy. There was another bit of news that fell under the radar a little bit and that's the name of the TLC PPV. Since WWE added a "Stairs Match" between Big Show and Erick Rowan, they have renamed the show "WWE: Tables, Ladders & Chairs...And Stairs." It's not a joke. It's official. Why change the name of a long standing PPV because of one midcard match that will probably be short? It's dumb. The rules will be that only stairs are legal in the match. This Monday night on Raw are the Slammy Awards. Originally, Brock Lesnar was scheduled for the festivities. WWE must have had something planned for him, but they changed their mind and took him off that show. If he wins something then they can have Paul Heyman do a speech for him. Lesnar is expected to be on the December 15 edition of Raw (night after TLC) to start the build for Royal Rumble against John Cena.
