10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (Nov 17)

Who's next for Goldberg after Brock Lesnar?

By Jack G King /

Survivor Series is the topic on everybody's lips right now, and that's totally understandable. Despite a pretty tedious build - involving countless authority-dominated promos, "will they / won't they" teammate squabbles, and several overcrowded preview matches - the PPV looks to be a strong one on paper.

A strong undercard features Miz vs. Zayn and Kendrick vs. Kalisto, four workers very capable of putting on a great match, but the main attractions are - of course - the three traditional Survivor Series elimination matches. There's a hell of a lot of intrigue regarding how these bouts will pan out: who the survivors will be, who will win each contest, and of course, which brand will emerge the ultimate winner of the pay per view.

As if that wasn't enough to whet the palette, we also have the 'Fantasy Warfare Just Got Real' super-rematch between Brock Lesnar and WCW icon Goldberg, a bout which is favourite to headline the card. It's a controversial one - not just the placement of the match relative to the others on the show, but also the very existence of it. Is Goldberg over the hill? Is the outcome too obvious? WWE wouldn't allow the older superstar to take a 2-0 lead over their biggest heel, would they?

We'll tackle a number of subjects this week, most regarding Survivor Series, but also some centred around the topic of John Cena, the returning Undertaker, and current WWE World Champion AJ Styles.

10. Who's Next For Goldberg (After Lesnar)?

Our first question concerns the future of Goldberg after Sunday's extravaganza. What will he do after (surely) losing to Lesnar? I really can't see the former WCW Champion defeating Brock, especially having bested him in that infamous WrestleMania match over a decade ago.

I think the main clue to Goldberg's future lies in that promo he cut during his Raw return, ending with the slogan 'you're last'. This really could be a one-shot deal, and although there have been rumours of a rubber match at WrestleMania 33, I don't know if WWE fans will be too eager to see that (especially if their match on Sunday fails to impress, as I suspect might be the case).

If this turns out to be true, Goldberg will surely get a send off for being a forerunner at an incredibly exciting time for pro wrestling. He brought unparalleled intensity to his matches, and will go down in history as one of the most dominant figures in the business.
