10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (Oct 5)
'Why is SmackDown so much better than Raw?'
I was expecting a deluge of SmackDown-related questions this week, given the No Mercy pay per view rapidly approaching. Yes, it really is this Sunday. This is our gift and curse from now on - all of the wrestling, all of the time.
However, this week has actually seen quite a variety of questions, from musings over the (sadly declining) NXT to queries about which brand has the better women's division. We'll also tackle the confusing subject of TNA's apparently impending sale, as well as that old chestnut: why are WWE so reluctant to turn Roman Reigns heel?
A little-known fan by the name of Adam Blampied has also chimed in with a typically irreverent question, one which I will do my very best to answer.
Thanks once again to everybody who submitted questions, and apologies to those who weren't included. Make sure to catch next week's call by following the official WhatCulture Wrestling Twitter account (WhatCultureWWE), and thank you for reading.
Now let's dive in and tackle some tricky WWE-based questions.
10. Why Is SmackDown Better Than Raw?
This question obviously hinges on a matter of opinion, but it's one most people would agree with (including myself). SmackDown has been at a consistently high level over the past month or two, while the quality of Raw has deviated wildly - but why is this?
I think a lot of it revolves around the smaller roster and shorter timeslot. Although a greater variety of superstars and more time in which to utilise them seems an advantage, SmackDown's limitations have forced it to really focus and deliver.
Up and down the blue brand's roster, superstars are being placed into (largely) logical, tightly-constructed storylines, and appear to have a slightly greater degree of creative freedom when it comes to mic work.
