Well, it's almost here. The WWE's 28th annual Royal Rumble takes place on January 25th. The event marks the start of WrestleMania season which, in many ways, makes it the most important event of the year. Anyone who is booked to do well at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia will more than likely go on to make a sizeable impact at WrestleMania XXXI. However, poor old Rey Mysterio entered which left the thousands in attendance and the millions watching around the world feeling robbed. This disappointment surely means WWE have been planning the most compelling Rumble to date over the last 11 months. Many see last year's runner-up Roman Reigns as the man who will win year's Rumble before going on to beat Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Mania. It remains to be seen whether these plans come to fruition. Last year, Reigns was the latest in a long list of superstars that came very close to winning the first event of WWE's first PPV of the calendar year. Here are 10 superstars that almost made it to the main event of WrestleMania by winning the Royal Rumble...
