Earthquake made it down to the final two in Hulk Hogan's second consecutive Royal Rumble win back in 1991. The Canadian didn't do much in WWF or WCW but added to his World Wrestling Federation Tag Team Championship reign with this Royal Rumble final two appearance. It was funny that these two should end up in the final two as they would end up in a rivalry of sorts. This was the biggest moment in Earthquake's wrestling career by some way. The former real-life sumo star started the feud by sneaking up on Hogan during a segment of The Brother Love Show and repeatedly crushed The Hulkster with numerous Earthquake splashes. Eventually, Hogan gained revenge on Earthquake as he defeated him in a number of matches, starting with a count-out victory at SummerSlam 1990. So making Earthquake a finalist at the Royal Rumble would turn out to be part of the bigger picture in WWF at the time. He might not have been a big name in the grand scheme of things but he certainly had the size weight that made a potential Rumble win have some legitimacy to it.
