10 WWE Royal Rumble Statistics You Need To Know

10. That Winning Sensation

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before: “Stone Cold” Steve Austin has won more Royal Rumble matches than anyone else, winning three times in 1997, 1998 and 2001.

However, we should note that nine other men have won the Rumble twice: Hulk Hogan (1990, 1991), Shawn Michaels (1995, 1996), John Cena (2008, 2013), Batista (2005, 2014), Triple H (2002, 2016), Randy Orton (2009, 2017), Edge (2010, 2021), Brock Lesnar (2003, 2022) and Cody Rhodes (2023, 2024). Four Rumble winners have won in consecutive years (Hogan, HBK, Austin and Rhodes).

It's scary to say this out loud, but those 10 men have won 21 of the 37 men’s Rumbles. Also of note: Brock had a 19-year gap between Rumble wins, which is a record.

Of this batch, Cena and (to a much lesser extent) Orton could tie Austin’s record with a shock win, Cody will otherwise be occupied at the Royal Rumble PLE.
