10 WWE Stars Who Made Bold Claims They Failed To Back Up

2. Chris Jericho Has Come To Save Us ... By Ending The World?

Y2J has made a lot of promises in his fifteen year run with WWE. He has promised to delight us, ignite us and excite us. Which he has, at times. He promised to rock the WWF out of it's boring, stagnant, mediocre cesspool that it was supposedly in when he debuted in 1999 (you know, during the Attitude Era? The most exciting and successful period in company history?). He promised he was going to save us when he returned to WWE in 2007. Save us by ... playing the exact same character he had been playing for eight years? Then finally changing his stale character by evolving into the most evil ruthless heel the WWE had seen in quite some time? Still not sure when the saving part is supposed to happen. Then he came back in 2012 and said absolutely noting for three weeks. An admirable attempt at something, anything different and innovative. But fans didn't take too kindly to a wrestler not speaking and grew tired of the gimmick by week two. When he finally spoke Jericho warned us all that the upcoming Royal Rumble match would be the end of the world as they knew it. Didn't happen! Now Jericho's latest run is coming to an end and it hardly feels like he's been back at all. A feud with Bray Wyatt that should have captivated audiences has failed to reach it's potential. Perhaps fans have soured on the part timer and his false promises. Or perhaps Bray is still reeling from his post Cena comedown. Either way the feud has fallen flat. But at least Bray made one good point. Jericho still hasn't saved us from anything.
