10 WWE Stars Who BADLY Need New Gimmicks After WrestleMania 40

4. Shayna Baszler

One Shayna Baszler must've been grinning from ear to ear when WWE's writers told her she'd be teaming with old pal Ronda Rousey last year. Rousey's star had faded somewhat, but she was still someone fans reacted to, and tagging with her was a big leap up for Shayna.

Yeah, it didn't last long before Ronda split.

Baszler went straight back to creative purgatory as someone who very occasionally gets to look like a badass but is mainly used as a glorified jobber to workers WWE fancies pushing. It's a death spot for her. Is Shayna typecast as an MMA type? Maybe, but she doesn't have to be.

Wrestling is the kind of biz that sees performers switch overnight without so much as a blink from fans. Baszler needs that kind of rethink, and she needs it fast. WWE's traditional post-WrestleMania lull represents a fine time for Shayna to force her way back into contention by offering something else other than, 'I used to do some MMA'.
