9. Jinder Mahal

One day, Jinder Mahal can pen a book called, "From WWE Champion To Complete & Utter Afterthought: My Journey Through Vince McMahon's Mind". Catchy title. Seriously though, Jinder remains on the bench with a knee injury that, at the time he suffered it, had an estimated recovery time of 6-12 months.

He's an outside bet for a return in 2019 then.

It's not impossible. Despite initial reports claiming that Mahal had zero chance of wrestling again this year when he tore the muscle in June, those claims have softened. Fightful logged a story guessing that Mahal's comeback date is 1 January 2020. That, in case anyone needs a reminder, flies in the face of early news that he'd be out for a year.

Jinder has a shot at showing John Cena levels of superhuman recovery powers and launching his return before then. There's no doubt his days in the sun as a main event star are very much over, but he can still contribute on the lower end of the card.
