In the world of WWE, personality is everything. Much of a performer’s persona is built around their gimmick, but not everyone is lucky enough to be saddled with a gimmick that makes sense, let alone succeeds. Gimmicks in WWE are just about as hit and miss as it gets, with many performers over the years finding themselves in both categories with the same character. A crazy industry, to say the least.

WWE’s bloated roster means that not every performer gets a chance to shine, but there are plenty of people signed to the company that finds themselves treading water with their current personas. They say ‘a change is as good as a rest’, and in WWE it can be the difference between an underwhelming career and superstardom.

Gimmick changes are part and parcel of the business and history tells us that incredible things can happen when creative commits to a change. The Ringmaster became Stone Cold Steve Austin, Rocky Maivia became The Rock, Fake Diesel became Kane and there are plenty more where they came from. Which current WWE stars need a change of gimmick?
