10 WWE Stars Who Made Terrible Actors

By Graham Matthews /

2. Goldberg

Arguably the brightest star to come out of WCW, Goldberg made a name for himself quite quickly during his brief stint with the company. He got over with audiences as a babyface and won the WCW World Heavyweight Championship in record time, defeating Hollywood Hulk Hogan for the strap in July 1998. Though he may have never been the world's greatest in-ring wrestler, he was insanely popular during his time in both WCW and WWE. He's had success outside the squared circle since retiring in 2004, but not necessarily as an actor. Goldberg had a significant role in WCW's train wreck of a movie, "Ready to Rumble" in 2000, playing himself. He'd return to the silver seen three years later in "Looney Tunes: Back in Action," playing the silent but deadly character Mr. Smith. Despite the fact the film was a financial disaster, Goldberg played his role well, but the same can't be said for his involvement with "The Longest Yard" and "Santa's Slay," both released in 2005. Goldberg's roles in both movies were less than stellar to say the least. He was also cast in the lead role for "Half Past 2," but the sequel was nowhere near as good as the original and Golderg's performance was forgettable compared to Steven Seagal's in the film's predecessor. Maybe, just maybe Goldberg might be a better actor if he wasn't required to talk and prevent ruining his intimidation factor.
