It's incredible to think that some wrestling news sites were reporting the idea of Lana becoming the 'next Sable' in early Summer of last year. The blonde bombshell split from Rusev in May, before hooking up with Dolph Ziggler shortly thereafter. WWE's booking of the woman did nothing for her, as she bounced from one man to the next. This despite claiming that she was independent and didn't need the tyrannical Bulgarian to look after her. The storyline quickly fizzled out, only worsening when both Rusev and Lana became injured. Summer Rae was added to the mix, and fans promptly stopped caring. So did WWE once Lana and Rusev, real-life lovers, announced their engagement on social media. Any idea of making the 'Ravishing Russian' a major superstar halted at that moment. In the midst of the 'female revolution' happening in the Divas division, Lana found her importance downplayed. Reportedly, Vince McMahon had once viewed her as his new female star, but has since changed his mind. Now, she has been reunited with Rusev, but rarely accompanies him to ringside. What a difference a year makes, huh?
