Is Chris Jericho's highlight reel supposed to be an homage to Piper's Pit? Certainly. Any wrestler who decides to have an interview show with a set is absolutely on some level owes a debt of gratitude to Roddy Piper. However, it's in going back to Summerslam 2008 where during a feud between Jericho and Shawn Michaels wherein Jericho punched Michaels' wife Rebecca "inadvertently" in the mouth where things get interesting and VERY Piper-esque. Jericho asks Michaels to admit that he's retiring because Jericho got the best of him. Michaels doesn't and instead uncorks a promo that involves the Heartbreak Kid telling Jericho to tell his children that he could never be wrestler Shawn Michaels was.
