10 WWE Stars Who Would Be Nothing Without Their Props
10. Carlito's Apple
To 'spit in the face of people who don't want to be cool' is a pretty ballsy move. When you decide that you're going to do this after chewing down on a handheld piece of fruit, one of two things are going to happen. You're getting over or you're getting booed and that's a pro-wrestling win-win if ever there was one.
Vignettes started to air in late 2004, depicting Carlito Caribbean Cool as a cocky, laid back guy who made it his duty to point out what was 'cool' and what was not. What tipped him into heel-dom was the audacity of the mighty apple hawking. It first appeared to be a random act of arrogance but later proved to be a calling card for the Puerto Rican.
Entering the SmackDown roster surrounded by fanfare, he was thrown straight into a U.S. Championship programme (winning the title on his debut) before eventually going on to have his own talk show (Carlito's Cabana) and multiple World Championship opportunities.
Did Carlito fulfil his main event promise? No. However you knew you were about to witness unfiltered entertainment as soon as he drew his legendary snack.
